Board of Directors

Lois' Lodge is managed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. Members of the Board are:

John Marx, board president

John and his wife, Rhoda originally became involved with Lois' Lodge through serving as relief houseparents on the weekend. John has two daughters that "are in love with our Lord and want to serve Him".  He also has a teenage son who still lives at home. John is a missionary for Wycliffe Bible Translators.  He and Rhoda attend Calvary Baptist Church. John is motivated to serve at Lois' Lodge because of the spiritual changes that he has seen in the lives of the girls served by this ministry.

Deana Kocylowsky

Deana Kocylowsky is a CPA and works in Human Resources-Executive Compensation at Wachovia Corporation. Deana and her husband Michael live in Charlotte. They are members of Central Church of God where they are active in their Sunday School and have participated in several overseas short-term mission trips as well as local community service opportunities.

Zeritha McFadden

Zeritha has joined the Lois' Lodge Board of Directors out of a desire to give back to this ministry.  "Lois' Lodge was there for me when my 16 year old daughter got pregnant last year and I was at wits end as to what to do for her". "Lois' Lodge was used by God to deliver me from a dark pit".  Zeritha has worked in the criminal justice field and has numerous contacts in the Social Services network in Mecklenburg County. She is currently a Screening Specialist for the Meck. Co. Sheriff's Dept. Zeritha and her family attend Central Church of God.  She has a beautiful grandson. Zeritha's daughter, the baby's mother will be graduating from High School, right on schedule in 2007.

Kathi Ingrish

Kathi is the Town Planner for the town of Matthews. In this capacity Kathi is the staff/technical advisor to a number of local elected or appointed Boards and committees.  She has also served on a number of professional committees. Kathi became involved with Lois' Lodge in the very early stages of the ministry's development when she helped to write zoning text and guide us through the process of getting local approval for our original location.  Kathi is drawn to this ministry because "Lois' Lodge is a positive and compassionate response to a problem faced by women who do not know how to move forward in their lives when they become pregnant." Kathi is encouraged at the thought of helping the Lois' Lodge residents find hope, reassurance and spiritual strength to work through their difficult personal situation and to come to a realization that God is dependable."  Kathi was involved in setting up a crisis pregnancy center in Rockingham, NC in the late 80s.

Falinda Farley

Falinda is a substitute teacher for several private Christian schools in the Charlotte area.  Falinda has been married to Mark for 26 years.  They have seven children. She and her family attend Steele Creek Church. Falinda has been involved in the ministry of Lois' Lodge for several years as a member of our Speakers bureau and a prayer partner.  Her background in Christian television has help to prepare her to communicate the vision of Lois' Lodge. Falinda served as the Master of Ceremonies for our banquet in 2006.  She believes that this ministry is reaching out to the "least of these".  According to Falinda, "our Christian community claims to be "pro-life" but does not really extend the help needed for a woman facing a crisis prenancy.  Lois' Lodge is on the FRONT LINE."

Verne Phifer

Verne Phifer, a local recording artist, has always had the passion to minister to God's people through music. Verne has lent his gifts serving at Hickory Grove Baptist Church as a soloist, praise and worship leader, choir member, and deacon. He continues to sing there regularly. In addition to worship at Hickory Grove, Phifer has sung with the Charlotte Philharmonic and has worked with Narroway Productions. Verne's first project "Revealed" was released in 2007 and he hopes to further God's message and purpose through music in subsequent projects. Verne loves his beautiful wife, Jessica.

Gwine Johnson

Gwen is a mother of seven children with ages ranging from 13 to 25 years of age. She and her husband served on the leadership team of 40 Days for Life Campaign. As she spent time praying in front of the abortion clinic, she realized how important it is to have a ministry like Lois' Lodge that can give the young women who choose life a safe place to bring their children to term. She and her husband Curt, who is an elder at Christ Covenant are also involved with feeding the homeless every Sunday morning and have traveled to Ethiopia with Sports friends.
